WOMEN BREAKING PLATES

A women's empowerment event with DJ Kimberly St. John

broken image

This event is a Benefit for The Gathering Place; a refuge for impoverished women and children.

Women Breaking Plates has aligned with the Electronic Music Alliance (EMA) to create a clothing drive for the...

Shiloh House - Beyond The Walls Program. ( shilohhouse.org ) DJ Kimberly St. John, EMA Ambassador, will be the musical guest and help run the clothing drive. Clothes will be collected the entire day of the event at the event location.

The Beyond The Walls Program provides transitional coaching for youth 16 - 26 years old who have been abused and gone through trauma. If you have any nice clothing that is just sitting in the back of your closet, please consider donating it to youth attempting to find a new life for themselves. We would like for these young adults to feel good about themselves when they go for job interviews, and in their daily lives. Clothing may be dropped off early or a bag may be brought to the event.

What is this event about?

The better way we are all seeking starts within us first - on the inside.

We have to acknowledge our own pain, our own injustice, our own frustrations... and our power to change it!

We can have fun, together, using our power of choice.

Choosing to break old habits and patterns, and celebrating the healing.

All the broken plate pieces into a mosaic art installation in the RiNo District that says... People Heal

( You are welcomed to bring extra plates if you want certain plates to be in the People Heal mural )
